The Grand Auditorium is constructed with the very finest Solid Spruce combined with Back and sides of sandwiched Rosewood, Balsa and Carbon Fibre mesh. This allows the archback strutless form. The result of the strutless back is clear reflection across the whole dynamic range and perfect balance of volume and tone across the strings.

The Grand Auditorium is equally at home with the warmer fingerpicking tones as with heavy flatpicking. The Grand Auditorium was designed from day one as a cutaway. So many cutaway guitars are simply altered derivatives of the non-cutaway model. As a result they loose a fair proportion of top frequency response. Not the case with this guitar. It has been designed and tuned to work in cutaway form.

We have widened the lower bout and compensated the left side of the upper bout so that the balance is the same as a non-cutaway guitar. The Moondog Grand Auditorium will provide all the warmth of a rosewood guitar and the powerful projection of the best mahogany guitars, giving a unique tonal facility.
