Vi Hunter was a nurse who decided to do something more for the needy. She designed a doll and named it after her daughter Jenny. The design was molded and taken to Mosser Glass in the late 1970's. It was a faceless design and had long hair. Vi Hunter's intent, by making the doll faceless, was that it could represent anyone or anything one wanted it to be. For instance, one could look upon it as an Amish girl, a nun, a peasant girl, the image of Mary, or it could represent your daughter, granddaughter or mother to you. The first produced doll was presented at the Victim's Assistance Antique Show and Sale which is held annually to aid battered wives.
Each month of those years a new color was introduced. Jenny dolls are highly collectible and sought after because of their limited quantities since they are no longer produced.
