Scrimshawed RUM horn with attractive hardwood and brass display stand.
Decorated with scrimshaw and carving around the spout. Both ends are plugged with hardwood attached with wooden pegs. Both ends are embellished with domed brass plates which have been antiqued.
The horn measures 5 1/4 inches across the top. The small end is 2 inches in diameter. The large end is 2 5/8 inches in diameter. The spout is 1/2 inch in diameter and is a tapered hole with a cork stopper. The horn has been sealed inside with Bees Wax. The horn will hold about 6 ounces of liquids. It is not designed for hot liquids. Around the spout there is a ring of engrailing and scrimshaw for decoration.
The traditional design and style of this piece to many reenactment eras. It would be perfect for primitive rendezvous, French and Indian War reenactor, colonial events, Civil War reenactors, black powder shooters, mountainman, muzzleloader or any similar living history event.
