About the book...

In another cozy installment in the "Mousekin" series, bright-eyed Mousekin becomes aware of the woodland world around him in this gentle story of woodland babies.

Little Mousekin is separated from his mother and discovers that each animal has its own special way of reproducing.  Introduces the early life of a mouse from birth to weaning and how other animals care for their young.

Muted water-color wash drawings capture the quiet atmosphere of the forest. Miller gently conveys accurate information about nature while she tells a good story. A read-aloud for the whole year.


A wonderful way to teach about nature/science much like the Arnosky or Burgess books.

Condition:  Exlibrary, Cloth cover with dustjacket in mylar.  A few small stains on page edges and a few smudges.  Overall a nice copy with no page tears noted.  No odor. 

1974 price of $5.95 Prentice Hall Library binding sewn and reinforced with cloth hinges.
