The2FunAdGuyz offer a new, high-quality reproduction print of a movie poster for one of the classic serial-cliffhangers of the bygone era—Bride 13. For those too young to remember, there was a time when movie theaters showed something besides coming attractions and ads for local dentists and malls. They showed cartoons and “serials” designed to add value to the experience. Serials were also known as peril or cliffhanger movies. Each week a new episode was shown—usually ending with a woman and/or the leading man facing another danger. This Bride 13 series had fifteen episodes and this poster is for episode nine, Hurled From The Clouds. The poster shows a woman being pushed out of the cockpit of a seaplane over a large body of water while several battleships cruise the sea beneath the drama in "the clouds". William J Fox produced the picture, Richard Stanton staged it, E. Lloyd Sheldon did the story and Edward Sedgwick did the scenario. It starred Marguerite Clayton, John B. O’Brien, Greta Hartman, William E. Lawrence, Mary Christensen and Arthur Earle. It was made for Fox. No known copies of the film survive. Otis Lithograph Company, Cleveland, Ohio did the original lithograph on which this print is based.
