by HARCOURT BRACE, 1985 1st Edition 1st Printing -- VERY GOOD/VERY GOOD-- copy of Mr. Palomar. 8vo. 130 pp. Stated First American Edition. Translated from the Italian by William Weaver. Quarter-bound in burgundy cloth over maroon boards, with silver lettering to the spine. This is an ex-lib with one label and one handstamp. The back flyleaf once had a card pocket but that is gone. You can see where it was. Other than that, the book is in near fine condition with a strong binding and clean fresh pages. The dustjacket is in Very Good condition and protected with a Brodart cellophane sleeve. As an ex-lib, the DJ (in the sleeve) was taped to the covers and remnants of the tape are still present. I mention this for the purist collector who is looking for the near perfect book--this one will last forever and is in great condition but... CALVIN was one of Italy's most popular writer's and his works have been widely accepted and appreciated in most languages. This story has received considerable attention from critics and has been lauded in all circles. Now is a great opportunity to read a "WITTY, ELEGANT AND FANTASTIC TALE".
