MTI Matrix 1410 Stereo Speaker Switching Demo Board 4/8

MTI is a leading supplier of demo systems used in Home Theater and Car Audio stores
that let you demo compare different combinations of speakers and systems.

Offered here is one of their Matrix Model 1410 control boards. This lets you connect
one stereo source to one of eight different speaker systems. Or vice versa. Normal
list price of this current production item is $174.

The same board can easily be adapted for industrial test systems or most any high
level controller. The basic switching consists of eight 4 pole double throw relays
that are one-of eight selected by an input control signal. The "make" relay contacts
are routed to 36 "Jones Style" terminals. The "break" relay contacts are routed
to individual 4-pin headers.

The 1410 is addressible, allowing up to sixteen boards and 128 (or 127 and
none) outputs to be selected in an expanded system. There is a four station
DIP switch that selects the address of any particular board.

The normal use of the unactivated relay contact closures is to short out any
unused speakers to prevent phasing and echo problems. But these can easily
be used for medium current test reverse switching as well.

There are eight optional outputs intended for driving LED displays. These
can also be used as mid power outputs that can activate any load that needs
separate power. There is also a "board selected" red LED included.

The board is plug-and-go compatible with fancier MTI system components.

For stand alone use, there is a pair of daisy-chainable ten pin DIP headers.
Starting at the bottom, pins 1, 2, and 3 are the binary address of the output to
be selected on this board. Pins 4,5,6,7 are the address of the 1410 board
to be selected and must match the DIP switch settings for activation.

Pin nine is the system ground. Pin 10 requires an external source of +5VDC
at a few mils. Pin 11 requires an external source of +12VDC at a hundred
mils or so.

We have some matching daisy chainable connectors and cables separately
available for $9.73 each additional.

Note that this particular board is for high level audio, industrial contol, or speaker use.
Shielding is inadequate for low level audio or video apps. Different low level
switching boards are available and separately listed.
