Return Policy
Music Studio Direct will do everything in our power to make sure you're happy with your purchase. However, if you need to make a return on a purchase with Music Studio Direct you MUST contact us for a Return Authorization number. Any unauthorized returns will be refused. Buyer is solely responsible for shipping costs and insurance on returns. We highly recommend you use a trackable shipping method. If your return warrants a refund please allow up to two weeks for processing once the item has successfully been returned to us.
Software: If you are unsure of any aspect of your software purchase kindly contact us BEFORE you order. 90% of the time we can direct you to a free demo download of the software so that you can make an informed decision on your software purchase. Unopened software can be returned within 14 days of delivery. Opened software cannot be returned under any circumstances. If you feel that you've received defective media then contact us. A replacement of the same title will be shipped to you from the manufacturer.
Sample libraries: Sample libraries cannot be returned under any circumstance. If you are unsure of any aspect of your sample library purchase kindly contact us BEFORE you order. We can quickly answer questions about formats and direct you to MP3s demos so that you can judge the quality of the sample content you will be purchasing.
Hardware: Returns are accepted within 14 days of delivery. The unit must remain in like-new condition and all original packaging, instruction materials, accessories, etc. must be retained or a 15% restock fee will apply. If you are unsure of any aspect of your hardware purchase kindly contact us BEFORE you order. We can quickly answer questions about the unit and in most cases we can even get you PDF files of the operation manual in advance of your purchase.
Academic software policy
eBay listings for academic software will clearly be noted that you're purchasing academic software and that academic verification must be provided to us prior to shipment of your order. Acceptable verification includes school ID card, course schedule, tutition bill, any document showing current enrollment or employment at an accredited institution. You do not necessarily have to be a music scholar or instructor, any field of study is acceptable. Academic software may also be purchased by private music teachers with MENC/MTNA credentials, theological musicians with a supporting letter on institutional letterhead, and home school programs with proof of school board approved curriculum. PLEASE NOTE: There is no discernable difference in the features and functions of retail vs. academic software. The main differences are the packaging, serial number, and the user license agreement does not allow for commercial usage. Feel free to contact us with any questions about academic pricing policies.
