Emma Cochran Ponafidine was the daughter of an American missionary. She was born in Persia in the year 1863. She became a nurse stateside. She met and married Pierre Ponafidine, a wealthy White Russian, in Persia in the 1880's. This book concentrates on her time in Persia, elaborating on the Kurds, Baghdad, Bombay, Constantinople, and Russia. It appears rare to have her books signed.

The book is in good condition. The book has a blue cloth cover with gold lettering on the front and spine. The cover is worn and soiled with the spine cover faded. The pages are clean. The binding is cracked but in tact. The book contains 320 pages. The book size is about 9" x 6".
