GRADE:   most Excellent -= will be outstanding pen

Grade description:  excellent - unique blanks that are defect-free with minor inclusions or voids. Great eyes, color, and burl throughout. Absolutely wonderful.

DESCRIPTION:  madrone  burl is a very dramatic wood. It will have intense eyes, rays  swirls . Colors include tans,  oranges, reds, pinks and blacks. Sometimes all will be present.  contrasts are quite intense and are very stunning. This wood makes very nice pens.

ALL burlwood will or may have inclusions, fizzures or other deformities that are not considered defects and only serve to enhance the beauty of the finished pens.

If you are uncomforable with this type material, please consider before you purchase. If you love the challenge of working with burl, then by all means go for it.
