A borrowed cigarette which can be signed is displayed along with a brass tube. The tube is examined and the cigarette placed inside, a lid is then screwed on to the tube. The spectator is then asked to run a razor blade or a playing card through the slit in the tube, thus cutting the cigarette in half.
The lid is removed and the cigarette is found to be in two pieces.
Another cigarette is borrowed, signed and inserted into the tube as before then cut in half by the magician. This time when the tube is opened the cigarette is tipped out completely un-harmed.
A quality made brass close-up prop that can be fully examined before and after the trick.
