Magnificent Antiq. Applique Quilt Red/Blu/Green Border

Though the huge red showy flowers have faded and become tattered, this magnificent applique quilt is worthy of any collection. Truly a study for all quilters and quilt collectors, with the many floral pieces including flower petals, leaves, stems so neatly attached that one wonders where the stitches are.  Several of the colorful appliques are also embellished with embroidery, to accent a flower stamin or leaf stem.  The white cotton remains intact, while reds and blues and greens show stress from age or fragility of dyes.  The quilt is completely self-faced in 1/4" red binding, which follows the shallow scalloped edge.  Large size at 85" by 76" with abundant quilting at about 6 stitches per inch and thin, thin batting..  No stears, spots, or holes, and while we are not the sole owners, we have never laundered or used this quilt..
