Note: These are the lines of text in the slides. Islamic Middle Eastern Silver Sugar Bowl (a) Mamluk revival Islamic Middle Eastern silver sugar bowl. Late 19th to early 20th century. Hallmarked .84 silver. II. Islamic Middle Eastern Silver Sugar Bowl 1. The bowl is profusely hand engraved and decorated with geometric motifs. It has a folding handle and three ball feet. B. Weight: 194 grams (6.2 troy oz.) C. Height to rim: 63 mm (2 ½") Diameter: 102 mm (4") III. Islamic Middle Eastern Silver Sugar Bowl 1. The bowl is hallmarked on the inside, .84 silver (left) and with a maker’s mark. If anyone can read the maker’s name, then please email the translation to me and I will post it. IV. Islamic Middle Eastern Silver Sugar Bowl A. Bottom, with three ball feet. V. Islamic Middle Eastern Silver Sugar Bowl 1. The engraved geometric decorative motifs were inspired by the 15th century, Mamluk period metalwork of Egypt. From the middle of the 19th century, on the Mamluk revival style was used by Middle Eastern metalworkers. VI. Islamic Middle Eastern Silver Sugar Bowl 1.
