Up for auction is a very VERY special Marshall amplifier. This a "cherry" Marshall JCM2000 DSL 100 watt head. Used but DEAD MINT! No issues AT ALL. Contains a matched quad of Groove Tubes E34L power tubes [not the standard EL34]. the E34L's carry just a bit more voltage across the plate for a hotter output. All pre-amps and reverb driver Groove Tubes as well. A REALLY sweet set-up. But what makes this UNIQUE is the casing. A ONE-OF-A-KIND, hand built amp head casing using the finest hardwoods on the planet. You could say that this should be called the "International" because it contains hand selected wood from "4" different continents!! The top and bottom of the amp uses "250 year old" Honduran Mahogany. The side panels are African Purpleheart. The rear panel is American Poplar. And the face. AHHH, the FACE. A "limbed" piece of Bolivian Rosewood! Amazing grain. And purposely selected for placement under the Marshall logo. These photo's do not do justice to the incredible grains and the artwork of the woods. ***THIS IS A FABULOUS SHOWPIECE FOR THE DISCERNING OWNER***. Hand built by Retrofit Acoustic Builders inc. of NYC. This pattern will NEVER be repeated. All head boxes built by Retrofit are unique. No two are alike. Woods are hand selected from Groff & Groff lumber harvesters [re-planting specialists]. Finger-jointed corners, COMPLETELY HAND CARVED, sanded up to 600 grit [super silky to the touch], and finished in a hand-rubbed satin poly sheen. I wish EVERYONE could touch this just to feel it. Feels like a DREAM. And because the amp box is solid hardwood instead of just plywood, the sound of the amp itself is warmer and more acoustically musical to the playing of the guitarist. Mind you, this is NOT an everyday player. But when you want jaws to drop, YOU USE THIS. By the way, this head box will also fit ANY JCM model chassis. 800's, 900's, 2000 TSL as well as ANY chassis that has the same tie-down bolt holes as measured like the JCM's. By the way, the road case in the pictures is NOT included. But it does come with original manual, footswitch, and ac cord. I wish there was more that I could say about this but the pictures will have to do the rest of the talking. I WILL answer all questions that you might have regarding this masterwork. Now, because of the unique quality of this amp, I'm going to put a minimum reserve on this as well as a "Buy It Now" price. The reserve will be WELL BELOW the "Buy It Now" price. But if someone wants it that badly, the "Buy It Now" will be your option. If someone chooses the "Buy It Now" option, I will ship this FREE within the continental U.S. with insurance! I'm going to start the bidding at $100 [well below the reserve but i've got to start somewhere]. I'm going to charge a flat $75 shipping and handling to the continental U.S. Item will be professionaly packed [bubblewrapped, then boxed, then bubblewrapped again and then boxed again]. Outside the lower 48, please include postal code when inquiring about postage. Payment for this will be USPS Money Order. Paypal accepted as well. I have 100% positive feedback [please check] so bid with confidence. Payment is expected within 3 days of auction end using paypal and 7 days when mailing money orders. Item will ship out within 48 hours of payment clearance. I'm going to ship this USPS but if the winning bidder wants another carrier for shipment, I will charge accordingly. Thak you very much for looking at this listing and, as always, have fun bidding.
On Apr-14-08 at 08:17:16 PDT, seller added the following information:An ebayer has pointed out to me that there are no "top" vents for vertical heat dissapation. As stated in the listing, this is NOT an everyday player. So one should not expect to have this amp running all the time. Also, a master woodworker has pointed out that the "finger jointed" corners are in fact "finger-JOINED. Not JOINTED. Just thought that I should also point this out as well.
