2006- Martin HD-28
Excellent Condition- with Original Hardshell Case Included.
The case is the fancier one from Martin with four latches and the Embossed "CF Martin" in the lid.Not the leatherette one you see so often.
No repairs ever done on guitar- Frets are 98% unused- Neck straight as an arrow- Saddle sits perfect in the top- Action is fine- I like it med low, bit there is plenty of bone left if you want to lower it.
The Spruce Top on this one has a slightly darker Amber Hue than you see on recent HD-28's- In fact it looks the color of a Martin that is at least 20 years old. I have no explanation for this- but I have a 2008 Martin with the vintage toner on it and it looks pale in comparison to this HD-28. The Indian Rosewood sides are the color of chocolate. I think this color stuff is worth mentioning because the sound of the guitar is phenomenal. Sustain that goes on until Tuesday- The Bass on it makes the others sound like little girls compared to Lerch. The volume can fill an auditorium- no need for electronics- by the way, there are no electronics. Just rich, full, mature sound and I think I would add, dark as an adjective. Jumbos, Schmumbos, Dreds are the kings of unamplified sound and this one is the alpha male. I love this guitar- I bet you can tell. Recent circumstances have forced the sale of my guitars one at a time. This was the one that I was going to keep.
No Reserve Auction
The lone cosmetic flaw is a spot on the top where some Jabone put a sticker on it. My guess- it was an idiot clek in a guitar store who decided to put a price or some other retarded marketing tool on the guitar. No one who actually owned this guitar could do anything to hurt it. When the moron removed the sticker it made this spot look like matte finish rather than the gloss finish, you see on the rest of the guitar. I will do my best to photograph this, but it may be difficult to distinguish.(this is on the upper bout treble side- I posted two pics of this area specifically) You have to hold the guitar in the light and turn it a certain way to see it. In the interest of full disclosure, I tell you about this as well as the insignificant scratches on the pickguard and the body. any scratches on the guitar are in the clear finish of the guitar, not scratches that go into the wood or even through the finish into the wood. I am told that these could be buffed out. I dared not try it because I think it is beautiful the way it is and they are not significant enough- not to call this ax- excellent.
