Description of item for sale:
This massive polished bronze clock is from France and it dates to around 1900. It is in very good antique condition with one problem with the clockworks (see below). The reticulated bronze body is in excellent condition. The quality is obvious in the heavy castings and the detail of the clock and its size makes it impressive in even a large room. It is made from many individually cast and assembled parts. The clockworks are French, from the Japy Frères Factory and they carry the Japy mark (photo). The dial is marked Maison Hanniet Bruxelles (Belgium). The clock runs as it should and keeps good time. However, the chime train does not work-the spring that drives it is broken.
