Up for auction is a great art portfolio book devoted to the art of drawing.  This large 11.25 by 15.5 inch book contains 94 beautiful, full color facsimile reproductions of drawings from some of the world's greatest artists. It features the work of Ingres, Delacroix, Corot, Daumier, Manet, Renoir, Degas, Pissarro, Toulouse-Lautrec, Rodin, Seurat, Cezanne, Gaugin, Van Gogh, Kollwitz, and Picasso to name some of the artists.  The drawings cover a broad range of styles, subject matter, and media from highly expressionistic to highly realistic. Some of the media that is exquisitely reproduced in this book are pencil, charcoal, pen & ink, ink wash, watercolor, and pastel. 

My photos do not do justice to the quality of the prints. Each one looks so fresh that it appears to have just come from the artist's hand and is on a nice, heavy paper utterly unlike the glossy, slick paper you find in modern art books. When you look at this book, there is never any glare from the paper and when you turn a page, you really feel like you're turning a page. If you love great drawings, I think you'll find this book mesmerizing. 

Overall condition of the book is excellent.  The dust cover is worn but binding is tight, cover is very good and pages are clean and crisp.  This book is from a single private collection and has spent most of its life on a shelf. It was printed in 1959 and its introduction is written by Denes Pataky.
