You are looking at a handmade Mateki 042, all .925 sterling silver, in-line G, open hole, B-foot, with 1 1/5 year old Straubinger pads (last serviced 8 months ago, still working wonders). The flute is in wonderful condition (meaning NO dents or dings; NO end or side play anywhere; NO bent or broken keys, posts, hinge tubes or rods; and nothing like that ever repaired) with a smooth mechanism and a really beautiful sound. This flute does not have adjustment screws but what is called the traditional tab system, which is uncommon among student and pre-professional flutes due to the precision and craftsmanship that it requires when making it, allowing to have then more stable and durable adjustments (which ultimately means less trips to the repair shop).
The headjoint is a Watanabe (Mateki's handmade heads) Maple cut, which has a very nice projection, an amazing balance between focus and flexibility, singing overtones... and it also looks cool.
On the accessory side, it comes with its original case and wooden cleaning rod, and also with a Jean Cavallaro case cover.
Mateki is a well know and reputable brand of high end professional flutes, that is specially known for the dedication they put into hand-making every single one of their flutes. For more backround and price comparison check Mateki's website (http://www.mateki.com/) and professional flute dealers such as Atelier Korri, Cincinnati Fluteworks and JB Weissman, among others.
Saying that this flute is ready to play would be an understatement: it's ready to blow your audience's mind! The only reason why I'm selling it, starting at this unbelievable price, is because I need the money rather fast. UPS ground shipping is on me, but I will sell only through Paypal and only to residents of the United States (excluding Alaska, Hawaii and Puerto Rico). I'll ship the flute within three business days after the receiving payment.
Good luck!
