You are bidding on a mint copy of a four-page report from McIntosh called “Model Number List” (Production Schedule) dated June 1989. This report lists all McIntosh items produced from June 1949 thru June 1989 including Amplifiers, Preamps, Tuners, Receivers, CD Players, Speaker Systems, Power Supplies, Equalizers, and pretty much everything else McIntosh produced during this 40 year period. It shows the first and last shipping date for each item, as well as the first and last serial number for each item. It’s easy to figure the exact quantity produced for each model, as well as estimating when a particular McIntosh item was actually produced. It also shows several cases where a production improvement was made, by showing a change in serial number sequence. Examples of this are items such as the MC-30 amplifier or C-20 preamplifier which had cosmetic changes at the serial # sequence change. Or an item like the 4100 receiver which actually had a new feature added (FM Preselector switch) at the serial # sequence change. This occured on many items over the years. The report doesn't tell you what the change actually was, only that there was some type of change or improvement made at a particular serial # and the date when this change occured. This four-page report is a must for any McIntosh collector. The original report was given to me by a senior McIntosh engineer back in 1990, and has come in very handy many times over the years. A perfect copy of this report will be mailed in a 9” by 12” envelope.
