Here is the Jan 1951 issue of Railroad Magazine where the big feature article is on McKeen Motor Cars--trolleys--that were popular in the early 1900s. These were streamlined trolleys shaped like an inverted boat with 42 inch drivers. They were revolutionary and used by many lines such as the Lakeside & Marblehead, Rock Island, Chicago Great Western, Louisiana & Texas and several others. They were built in Omaha, Nebraska and the entire story is all here to include several rare photographs. VERY VERY hard to find info!! Other key articles are: 1. India's Iron Pikes--big article on India's steam railroads complete with several photos, 2. The Steam Dynasty--110 years of locomotive development--early locomotive history, 3. The Disc Brake--technical article on locomotive disc brakes, 4. Teamwork--true story from the 1920s on the Cleveland, Cincinnati, Chicago & St Louis RR, 5.
