MEDIEVAL UNDERDRESS
When I found instructions to make a Medieval underdress without a pattern I couldn't resist. This underdress is made from one continuous length of cloth. The only seams are under the arm and down the sides. The fabric is a mid-weight cotton blend. It looks like linen (please see closeup photo). There is a slight crinkle effect in the fabric.
PLEASE CHECK THE MEASUREMENTS TO ENSURE A GOOD FIT. THERE ARE SO MANY VARIATIONS IN SIZING THESE DAYS.
The chest - measured under the arms is 46 inches.
The Total Length - From back of neck to bottom is 52 inches (not for the tall person)
Neck width - measured accross at the widest point, not around is 11 inches (some may find the opening too wide)
Arm length - from neck opening to arm hem is 23 inches
Sleeve opening at wrist - 22 inches around (may be too wide for some people's preference)
The neck, arm and bottom, edges have been finished on the inside with stripes of unbleached muslin to prevent fraying.
