Handcrafted Meditation Cushion Set: Choose Your Fabric Panel

Set of two cushions: Custom-made, handcrafted patchwork zabuton with matching zafu
Enhance your sitting meditation with these handcrafted traditional meditation cushions, designed for comfort, stability, and durability. This set consists of two cushions: the traditional pleated zafu ("sewn seat") to provide you with support during zazen, and the zabuton ("floor pad") that goes underneath, to provide cushioning between your knees and the floor. These cushions together make a meditation practice much more comfortable, as they make it possible for Westerners to sit in half-or full-lotus posture without too much discomfort. These cushions are hand-made by me, from patterns I designed myself. They are guaranteed to provide you with years of use. I use the best and most high-quality materials I can obtain in order to provide you with the finest meditation products possible.
Your zafu will be covered with sturdy cotton canvas, and filled with organic buckwheat hulls. The zafu is designed with a hidden velcro closure so that the amount of filling can be adjusted, and a sewn-in handle for ease of transport. It has triple-sewn seams for durability, and measures 15" by 6". The cover is washable with care (remove the stuffing first!!)
Your zabuton will feature a machine-pieced patchwork mini-quilt on top, with the center panel chosen by you from the fabric panels pictured below. The center panel will be approximately 20" x 22", and will be framed by matching print borders in complementary colors. I have several of the companion prints that were released with these limited-edition fabrics, and I can promise that you won't be disappointed. I know the exquisite detail of these fabrics will delight you as it has delighted me.
The bottom side of your zabuton cover will be the same canvas as your zafu, either black or a color that accents your panel print. The zabuton cover also comes with a velcro closure, so that the cover can be removed for laundering. The cotton batting inside is enclosed in a separate muslin liner. The zabuton will measure about 28 inches square, with a 3-inch loft.
I've been making and selling these meditation sets for years, and I've sold hundreds of them to satisfied eBay buyers, many of them repeat customers. I've provided my handmade cushions to Zen centers around the U.S. as well as to individual practitioners in local zendos. I'm a one-woman operation, so every single cushion is handmade by me. Every aspect of your purchase receives my personal attention. I'm happy to answer any questions you might have about materials, construction, etc. Making these cushions is a part of my own practice; it constitutes a combination of skillful means and right livelihood, so I'm absolutely committed to your satisfaction. No sale is final until you are happy with your purchase. If for any reason you are not pleased with your cushions, I will cheerfully exchange them or refund your money. Your package is my responsibility until it is safely in your hands.
I do lots of custom work, and any zafu and/or zabuton I make can be customized to your specifications. I offer extra-large sets, crescent-shaped zafus, kapok stuffing, and several colors and fabrics. Please look at my zafu-buying guide, Zen and the Art of Choosing Meditation Cushions, if you have general questions about meditation cushions. If your question isn't answered there, feel free to email me. The only silly question is the one you don't ask.
Need a different fabric? Different color? Different style? Larger size? By all means check the listings in my eBay store, Shade of the Bo Tree, for more items like this one, in different styles, colors, and sizes. Thanks very much for having a look.

Your business is greatly appreciated. Please email me at your earliest convenience to confirm your shipping address, and feel free to contact me with any questions. Thanks!

Shipping will be via UPS Ground to the lower 48 (USPS is also available for military addresses, Alaska and Hawaii, PO box addresses, and international shipments – please email me for a USPS rate quote.) You will receive a confirming email with tracking information when your package is on its way. If you don’t receive this email within a week of your purchase, please check your spam folder, as these messages are occasionally mislabeled due to overzealous spam-block programs and thus are sometimes overlooked.
Important: Please note that this is a custom-made set, so you will need to allow 5-7 days after your payment is received for your package to be shipped (this means you'll need to allow about 2 weeks for delivery, a bit longer for USPS Parcel Post and international shipments.) All of my cushions are handmade to order, one at a time, and I won't ship anything until I'm satisfied that it's up to my standards. To produce an item by hand takes more time than tossing a factory-made item into a box, but I believe that with the extra attention to detail and my personal commitment to your satisfaction, you'll find the wait is worth it.
"To make objects by hand in an industrial society -- to work slowly and uneconomically against the grain-- is to offer, however inadvertently, a critique." -- Rosemary Hill
