This auction is for a scarce and 100% Original example of a men’s 1942 ARISTON UHRENFABRIK timepiece (MOVEMENT AS 1130-caliber - Wehrmacht caliber) with German Military WORLD WAR II “DU” (Dienst-Uhr – SERVICE WATCH OF GERMAN ARMY). It is a unique, vintage and rare WWII military Soldier’s and Officer’s wristwatch of German Armed Forces Second World War is of great historical significance, authentic ones.

This gorgeous, men’s German Army Service wristwatch by ARISTON has a signed numeral original black dial with Arabic numbers, steel skeleton Sword-style hands and subsidiary second hand at 6.00. Chromed case with screwed back covering (with six indented positions for opening) marking WASSERDICHT-STAHLBODEN 'D-U'. Overall excellent condition with a perfect dial. The dial is signed ARISTON below the 12.

This fine quality timepiece has the ORIGINAL AS 1130-caliber movement in an excellent status which was very well saved, considering age of this watch. Mechanism has been recently serviced to ensure it winds and sets smoothly while keeping great, accurate time. The 15 Jewels, manual wind, nickel plated movement is signed AS 1130 (caliber) – SWISS MADE – 15 JEWELS.

The AS-1130, so-called Wehrmacht caliber from the movement producer Anton Schild of Grenchen was the classic ‘confectioner’s’ wristwatch. The AS 1130 was available in varying shades. The AS 1130 was a good quality 15 jewel, hand-wound, shock proofed, lever movement of Swiss origin. Details of the watch shown were entered in a soldier’s pay booklet. It states the field-post and housing number as well as the words ‘paid’ or ‘on loan’.

Many watches of the Wehrmacht nowadays come from Russia of the millions of German soldiers lost their lives or got in prison there.

It is fitted on a new 18mm black genuine leather strap with contrasting white stitching and steel buckle that has a great MILITARY look to it.
