Here for auction is a beautifull, very well preserved 1981 300SD Turbo Diesel converted to run on vegetable oil. This is the luxury touring sedan of the diesels of it's time. Southern CA car it's whole life.

I just upgraded the vegetable oil conversion system with a coolant heat exchanger, additional fuel pump. Now there is 3 stages of heat applied.  System has been well thought out and developed over the past three years by me, and with the help of other companies and research provided specializing in vegetable oil conversions. The system Iv'e installed allows the engine to utilize vegetable oil, biodiesel, or regular diesel, or any of the three you decide to use by itself or mixed at any ratio you choose . This  type system is known as a single tank conversion, I have listed further below in full detail the benefits and overall simplicity and effectiveness this system provides.

This car drives very nice. The engine performs perfectly, the compression is excellent, no leaks of any kind with oil and coolant. Transmission shifts perfect, very smooth and when it should. Suspension, alignment perform beautifully.  All around this car is very solid and ready to give it's new owner lots of use. I have sold many Mercedes which have I have freshly converted and restored for sale here on Ebay exclusively. I make sure all my cars have been inspected by a Mercedes mechanic, this mechanic predominately works with diesel Mercedes. He checks for oil leaks, makes sure cooling system works properly, transmission gets inspected, all vacum lines are repaired if needed, brakes, suspension, belts, everything is looked into and dealt with before I sell and list it. Since this is my main business you are assured to receive a car that is very worthy of it's description, and the system installed for burning vegetable oil has been extensively researched and planned out and installed to a very high standard.   

Here's the details on the vegetable oil conversion. The heat is applied in three different areas. The first stage of heat is delivered to the fuel supply line just before it enters the injection pump by a coolant heat exchanger. This component in the system is silver and square shaped. This heat exchanger is made of copper and speciffically designed for heating vegetable oil. Hot coolant is delivered to it and a fuel supply line is within it. This heat exchanger really does a great job of heating the veg oil. The next stage of heat is an electrictronically controlled top loaded heating element built into the filters supply in line and out line.  This element heats up to 150 degrees helping the oil to move freely through the filter. From the filter the veg oil is routed back to the injection pump where it is than pumped through the injection lines. This is where the 3rd stage of heat is applied, directly to the injection lines. this electronically controlled heat source reaches a temperature of 220 degrees and is constantly applied at this temperature within 30 seconds once the system is turned on. The heat injection line source is secured to the fuel line by a heat resistant tape/wrap and also insulated by the copolymer heat resistant covers which are the silver convoluted tubing pictured just before the injectors. This heat source is turned on and off by a switch I have installed on the center console of the dash. It lights up when turned on. I have installed a switch for this stage of heat so when not using veg oil you can turn it off. Also installed with this sytem is an additional fuel pump. The pump is installed just before the veg oil is delivered to the heated filter, this greatly helps the flow of oil within the filter. With these three heat sources the motor will receive the veg oil well above the recommended temps suggested. And when heating veg oil the greater the heat the better it burns, more heat ensures you will get all the benefits in utilizing veg oil. These benefits are greater miles per gallon, Better engine longevity, more power due to better compression, very low emmisions. This is an ozone/environmently friendly vehicle. If you choose to use waste vegetable oil you will have no fuel costs.

The filter used is perfect for filtering vegetable oil and seperate any water that might accumulate which is rare but something you want in a filter for a system of this type. As well this filter will also properly work with regular diesel / biodiesel, it is by far a more effective filter than the stock OEM.

This is a single tank conversion, this again offers simplicity when burning veg oil, regular diesel, or bio diesel as a fuel source. You simply put either of the three fuels in the stock tank, a system of this type does not require a seperate tank.  I can offer some methods on filtering WVO waste veg oil from home to the winning bidder if needed. Filtering waste vegetable oil is very simple once you receive the basic knowledge involved in doing so. Or you can decide to run straight clean vegetable oil.

Exterior

 Car has original paint, it does show some areas of wear and does have some scratches and small door dings, basically these areas are very minimal and mostly unoticeable but wanted to disclose. Car overall is beautifull, and is a very rare car regarding it's exterior condition. Also the car was never in an accident, all body panels line up as they should. Trim and chrome is in good condition.  All the lights, turn signals, high beams, brake lights perform as they should with no problems. All 4 tires are Michellin Energy and have lots of traed life left. 

Interior

The interior is in great shape, seats are in great condition, comfortable and firm. This interior is one of the best I have ever seen in a car of this type. When I received the car it had mats covering all the carpet and when I lifted them up it seemed that they were placed there since the car was purchased, so the carpet and seats are in exceptional condition. The seats are made of leather and they show no fading, they also are in phenominal condition. The seats are power and function perfectly, 8 way power adjust.  All lights inside work.  Windows work perfectly, accept for the rear driver window, all other windows, driver, passenger, passenger rear work perfectly. Sunroof works, radio works and all 4 speakers and center fader work perfectly, all dash lights work, all air functions for upper lower fan and defrost work perfectly, the AC at the moment does not blow cold air I am going to have it recharged with freon/R12 and see if this solves the issue, I will post imediately if I get it working. Cruise control works. Power antenna works but does not go all the way down.
