| This is a beautiful specimen of the stony meteorite from Burkina Faso named Gao. The Gao meteorite fell on March 5, 1960, several thousand small stones rained down in the village of Leo. It is a stone, chondrite H5.
Pieces are still being found there, I now have a supplier in the town so these pieces are newly found. This piece is a nice specimen and has beautiful black fusion crust. It weighs 6.058 grams and is a museum-quality black-crusted perfectly flight-oriented specimen. It has nice rollover lip around the back side. This piece has wonderful shape and is in great condition. The cube in the photo measures 1 cm and is for measurement in the photos only, it is not included in the auction. I am a meteorite dealer and fully guarantee any meteorite and tektite I sell. Be sure to see me in the March 1999 issue of the Smithsonian Magazine, I am featured in an article about meteorite hunters! I am also featured in Fortune Small Business magazine.
