Please note this auction is for the chairs ONLY. Complimenting dining table is currently available in a separate auction.
Set of SIX (6) Tulip Swivel Arm chairs designed by Eero Saarinen for Knoll in 1956. This is a TRUE VINTAGE matched set produced in the late 60s or early 70s. They are ALL ORIGINAL and as "feature loaded" as you could get. They each have full 360 degree swivel movement and full front upholstery on the shells in one of Knoll's top fabrics, GREEN CATO WOOL. If you have not had the pleasure of sitting in this chair, then you're in for quite a treat. They are incredibly comfortable.
These chairs are still in production by Knoll and the same Cato Wool fabric is also still in production, however it is an upgrade option and its the most expensive upgrade available. If you walk into any authorized Knoll dealer and order this exact set of 6, they would run you well into 5 figures. Yes, you read that correctly, over $2100.00 PER CHAIR....OUCH!
The each measure 26"w by 23.25"d by 32"h, seat height is 18" and arm height is a little over 25".
All in excellent condition for their age. Shells and bases have some light age wear one might expect, but overall look superb. Upholstery is also excellent just light expected age with no smells and no objectionable issues. The foam in the seat cushions is a little thin, but in our opinion, not all in need of replacement, and when its time, they each have zippers so the foam can be pulled right out and new put in in a jiff. One chair's arm has a very slight separation where the upholstery meets the shell...you would likely have never noticed it and its not damage at all, just mentioned for thoroughness.
DUE TO THE SIZE USA and CANADA BIDDERS ONLY.
SHIPPING:
Picking up from us is fine, otherwise these will need to ship via "Blanket Wrap" freight (the cost will be less then if we were to individually pack and ship each chair by UPS once you figure in the oversize cost they charge).
For US bidders, we recommend “Blanket Wrap” service from PLYCON VANLINES or you can use a shipper of your choice (as long as they pick it up from us and do not require them to be boxed). Arrangements are to be made by you, the buyer (as they say, the less cooks in the kitchen, the better). You can get a quote direct from Plycon Vanlines by going to their website. It will need to be picked up in Los Angeles County Zip Code 91740.
For Canada bidders, you will need to arrange for a "blanket wrap" freight company to pick up from us as per the terms for US bidders above (Plycon does not service Canada.)
Please be sure and read our auction terms after the images below. Happy Bidding!!
TERMS AND CONDITIONS
(by bidding on this auction, you agree to the following)
PAYMENT
Payment from US bidders may be by Paypal, Check, or Money Order. Payments MUST be mailed and “postmarked” or made via Paypal within THREE (3) days of your Ebay Invoice date. There are NO exceptions unless you e-mail in advance of the auction close to make special arrangements. Items paid for by check will be held for clearance a minimum of 7 business days. We actively participate in Ebay’s Non-Paying Bidder Program and violators will be reported and kicked of Ebay. If you cannot follow through with the transaction, Please DO NOT BID.
SHIPPING
Buyer pays shipping and insurance or may pick up in the Los Angeles area. We ship exclusively by UPS and Greyhound within the USA. PLEASE ALLOW time for items to packed. Larger items that require special packaging may take a little longer. Unlike many ebay sellers, we do not just loosely toss your items in a used old “soft” box and send it on its way destined to be damaged. We take GREAT CARE and expense in both money and time in packing your piece. We use 99% new materials (all produced from recycled sources) and pack the right way every time (it’s not at all uncommon for a small furniture piece to take us 2+ hours to pack). We try and keep “in stock” a full assortment of shipping supplies, but sometimes certain size boxes etc. need to be ordered. We kindly ask that you please allow us a little time for this. In return, we assure you it will arrive safe and secure ready for your enjoyment.
THE REST
We sell VINTAGE items, thus they are USED and should be expected as such. If you’re seeking zero wear, age or patina, we would suggest you buy “new”. Any great extremes in condition will be noted in the items description. Items are described as accurately as possible. Please ask questions BEFORE you bid. We reserve the right to retract any bids deemed questionable.
Special note on vintage electrical items
ANYTHING that plugs in or runs on batteries are sold as design objects for decorative value only and while the current working condition will be noted in the items description, there is no warranty or guarantee on these items due to the fact that they are just that…vintage. Again, ALL SALES ARE FINAL, so please ask questions BEFORE bidding.
Special note on lamps and lighting
Vintage lamps and light fixtures have old wires and sockets. While more often then not, they are safe to use, it is always recommended that you have them checked by a qualified lighting technician prior to using and then have rewired if deemed necessary. We will not be responsible for any electrical hazards or damage.

OVERSEAS BIDDERS
Worldwide shipping is available on “many” items. Payment is to be via PAYPAL only. All overseas shipments will ONLY be shipped via AIRMAIL. NO Surface mail as we have had way to many problems with slow shipments and lost packages. If an item CANNOT be shipped internationally, we will note this is the items description. Please fell free to e-mail before the auction closes to get shipping costs etc.
Knoll Saarinen table and other items in the pictures above are not included or for sale, sorry.
Thank you very much and HAPPY BIDDING!
