These are two early 1800s English llanguage instruction books offered here.
The first is Exercises, Adapted to Murray's English Grammar:... for the benefit of Private Learners as well as for the use of schools. By Lindley Murray. It was published by Benjamin Warner, Philadelphia or sale at his stores in Philadelphia and Richmond, VA in 1817. Printed by M'Carty and Davis. Printed in the front is 'F. Malot's book 1819.'
The condition is fair. The front cover is loose, the pages are yellowed but intact and the spine is intact. There are 166 pages which includes the appendix plus 2 contents pages. It meausures 6 3/4 by 4 1/8 inches.
The second is The English Reader: or Pieces of Prose and Poetry. By Lindley Murray. Published and sold by N. & G. Guilford, at their Book Store, sign of Franklin's Head, No. 14, Lower Market Street, Cincinnatti, 1826. Printed by O. & W. M. Farnsworth.
The condition is fair. The cover is scuffed and the pages are yellowed and dirty. The spine and pages are intact. It measures 6 3/4 by 4 3/8 inches. It has 204 pages.
