Mini ACOMA Pueblo Miniature PLATE Pottery ~Bear Routzen

Up for auction is an adorable miniature pottery piece from the Acoma Indian Pueblo in northern New Mexico (USA).  The artist is the Acoma  pueblo potter: Bear Routzen.  The artist has signed this piece 'BR' on the bottom.  This is a Native American made mini plate and is all hand molded and painted with traditional Acoma Indian designs. These designs often resemble designs found on the prehistoric Mimbres pottery from New Mexico.  This lovely little plate has a bear design.  A great addition to a dollhouse or miniature shelf!  Makes a wonderful gift!

Size:  Just about 1&1/2" in diameter and about 3/8 of an inch deep.

Condition:  Excellent New Condition.  No cracks or chips that I could detect.   Please note, this is a hand-painted, hand-molded item, so some minor irregularities are to be expected in shape and finish.

Silver City is high in the mountains of southwest New Mexico.  The town is on the edge of the some of first wilderness areas ever created in the United States, the Gila Wilderness and the Aldo Leopold Wilderness.  This is the area once settled by the prehistoric Mimbres/Mimbreno people and later on by the Apache people and was the homeland of Geronimo.......
