MINNEQUA WATER BAG
Desert Radiator Water Bag with Indian Chief Imprint
Great Circa 1940's Collectible!
Vintage canvas desert automobile radiator water bag with original rope handle and plastic stopper. These bags were filled with water and hung off the front of a car's radiator. The evaporating water would aid in cooling the air entering the radiator as you drove through the desert. In weathered vintage condition, this water bag measures 15" by 10".
This is a very nice and well-aged collectible Minnequa Auto Water Bag manufactured by the Pueblo Tent & Awning Company, Pueblo, CO. These bags were used in many vintage autos to carry water before metal and plastic containers were used. Made from imported flax, there is a metal closing and top-fill to the bag. Printed on front is "For Best Results - Prefill" and "Cools by Evaporation."
Bag is in great vintage condition and has some stains relevant to its purpose and age giving the piece character. Stitching on the seams all appear to be in good shape. Printing on the front is faded with sun and age. Great piece to add to a room with either Southwestern decor, hang on the wall or add to your restored vintage vehicle, as would have been part of any well prepared car of the time. |
