SHIPPING SERVICE and COST: Generally I ship via US Post Office with CHEAPEST METHOD. The USA cost can be seen in the Shipping Cost (and see below for more information). Contact me for non-US shipping estimates.
HANDLING TIME: Generally I go to the Post Office on Monday, Wednesday and Friday. Consequently the usual handling time will be zero to two days from receipt of payment (three days for payments arriving on late on Friday). If I have a large amount of items to ship, I often will make a special trip to get your package shipped even faster.
RETURN POLICY: RETURNS on SILVER SETS: On any item made of silver or gold there is ABSOLUTELY NO RETURN WHATEVER if the price of the set on the date of sale was within 100% over the 'melt' value, and the price of the metal has dropped. I cannot guess the future, metal values might go up or they might go down, both are at YOUR risk or reward.

OWNERSHIP and RESPONSIBILITY: Upon my delivery to the shipping carrier, YOU own the item. I regret I have no control over any problems (damage, item lost, etc.) with the shipping company. SHIPMENT WARRANTY: I FULLY WARRANT you will GET your package, or I will give your MONEY BACK. However, due to sometimes slow delivery by the USPS, there is NO REFUND until 50 days after date of shipment to a US address. If you pay for MEDIA MAIL, it might take 5-6 weeks!
ALMOST 100% DELIVERY! In the past 5 years, I've only had ONE lost package! The Post Office is sometimes SLOW, taking up to 5 to 6 WEEKS for MEDIA MAIL (up to 3 MONTHS for non-US shipments). KEEP THE FAITH if your package does not arrive quickly! If your package has not arrived within 20 days of date of shipment, I will be pleased to email you the Delivery Confirmation number as proof of mailing.
SHIPPING COST: Buyer is to pay USPS or UPS shipping/handling, usually specified in the above description.
IF Shipping is NOT STATED above, or for heavy items that vary greatly based on distance: Buyer is to pay USPS postal shipping/handling. Minimum shipping cost is $.50. Your item will be sent with Delivery Confirmation on most items over $10.
ITEMS OVER $100: SIGNATURE CONFIRMATION is REQUIRED on all packages valued over $100. The fee is $2.35 additional cost (which will probably NOT show up in the automated eBay shipping estimates). This is especially required for items paid via PayPal. PayPal REQUIRES Signature Confirmation to verify your item arrived. In ALL CASES, the $2.35 Signature Confirmation fee takes priority.
POSTAGE PROBLEMS: The eBay system sometimes will show a somewhat different postage cost than my end of sale email via Blackthorne. This is particularly true with the new postal rates for heavy items sent via Priority Mail. Especially on NON-US Shipments, REGARDLESS of whatever email is sent to you, IF the postage cost for your item is substantially different from what you paid for, I reserve the right to either ship at a cheaper rate to stay within your amount paid, or to re-bill you for the additional cost. I'll eat the cost if the difference is modest, but I am NOT responsible for big differences. PLEASE EMAIL me with your zip-code or country, in advance for an exact postage quote if you have any questions.
PACKING FEE: I do charge a very modest packing fee on items needing careful handling and packing, or if I have to buy a box/mailer, generally specified above.
SHIPPING to CANADA and the WORLD: Regardless of what eBay says the postage is, PLEASE NOTE I can generally ship for the following amounts. CONTACT ME for an exact quote, I'm happy to COMBINE purchases and save you money. Insurance is not included in these estimates:

TRACKING: The Post Office does NOT offer TRACKING with Insurance or Delivery Confirmation. If you specifically wish to TRACK your package, it should be sent REGISTERED mail, or EXPRESS (next day) mail, both very expensive. There is very limited tracking available with Delivery Confirmation (date of mailing and date of delivery).
DELIVERY CONFIRMATION: Generally most uninsured packages worth about $10 or more are sent with a USPS Delivery Confirmation bar-code at no extra cost to you. This shows the date and time the item was mailed and delivered and has some very limited tracking. Due to the often slow delivery of the mail, and the 15-30 minutes required to research your number, I greatly prefer to not provide numbers prior to 20 days, as 99% of the time, the package arrives within this period (US delivery). On items shipped via the PayPal shipping program, the Delivery Confirmation number will be emailed to you automatically.
SHIPPING METHOD: Book rate (Media Mail) is now very slow, often taking up to a month and sometimes more. I can ship Priority Mail at additional cost. I am NOT liable for any problems caused by slow delivery by the Post Office. If you need your item quickly, please use Priority Mail.
SHIP-TO ADDRESS: I now have a LABEL MACHINE and cut/paste your name/address from your PayPal payment email, or the eBay email, directly to the label. Obviously it will print out exactly as it appears in the email. Many PayPal addresses are improperly formatted and you may wish to correct any errors in your eBay/Paypal accounts. If your package cannot be delivered as addressed and is returned to me, you will need to pay for the additional postage to resend it. Delivery to a different address will be considered on a case-to-case basis (as PayPal insurance does not cover me if sent to a non-PayPal address). In the event you need delivery to a different address, BE SURE to send me an email on this, not a note in the Paypal payment.
FedEX or UPS: I will ship via FedEx or UPS to a USA street address at a minimum charge of $30 (includes same-day delivery to the FedEx or UPS office, 25-30 miles round-trip). Contact me for an exact price.
PICK UP in ROCKFORD, IL: YES, you can pick up this item in Rockford, at NO extra charge. My shipping charge covers SHIPPING. Pick up and SAVE! I do NOT have a store, but I can arrange to leave this item at a local shop for you to pick up and pay for during normal business hours, Monday to Saturday. International Shipment: YES: I happily ship world-wide and I appreciate your international business. My end-of-sale e-mail notification with shipping cost assumes you are in the U.S. Your international postage WILL be higher. I do prefer PayPal payment on international orders. All broker fees, taxes and customs duties are to be paid by the buyer. Generally with the new postage rates, MOST items will cost $14 to $20 or more to ship. While generally photos are of the item being sold, in some cases I have duplicates, and the photo may be of the original (especially on books). YOUR INVALID EMAIL: If your eBay or PayPal email address is invalid (my emails to you bounce back to me), I will generally HOLD or cancel your shipment until you fix your invalid email.
