This is a balsa wood  model kit of a U.S. Coast Guard 44 foot Motor Life Boat (MLB).. The parts are laser cut which makes it easier to build. The model is 11.0 inches in length with a beam of 3.125 inches. The scale is 1.4"  =  1' (1 : 48) . This model is of the first one of this class built in 1963 as the "44300".  The kit contains drawings, photograph of the completed model, construction notes, painting guide, and a write-up about the MLBs.
