This beautiful new sculpture can only be described as a flow of organic shapes and warm colors. Alive with reflection, the different treatments of the pure 16 oz. copper sheet create a dynamic focal point. Artist David Savedge began with a piece of copper, a metal growing in value in the world today. Through his own unique methods David has transformed this semi-precious metal into an artistic expression. Organic, almost primitive shapes add drama to this piece. Heat and varying oxidizing agents were applied to bring out a variety of colors which dance across the copper 'canvas'. This piece truly expresses the artist's energetic spirit and love of natural elements. The work was clear coated with acrylic, and signed on the back by the artist. It measures 8“ X 10”. This sculpture will fit in a standard 8" x 10" frame. Please feel free to e-mail any questions and happy bidding!
Custom copper sculptures available upon request.
About the Artist:
David Savedge is truly a Renaissance Man. Growing up in Tidewater Virginia gave him the unique experience to work as a Blacksmith for Jamestown and a Wheelwright and Brass Founder for Colonial Williamsburg. He has worked in oils and pewter as well. His current work in metals began with copper statuary, fountains and trellises. Now this historically trained artist turns to more modern mediums and concepts for his next expressions.
Note on domestic shipping:
I am now offering usps priority and parcel post. I would also be happy to combine any shipping as well. This is as inexpensive as I can make the shipping. Please keep in mind that copper is a heavy metal and shipping costs can seem a little high because of this.
Due to the larger shipping size of framed pieces, combined shipping may be limited to fewer items per order.
Note on international shipping:
I am offering shipping in a flat rate envelope for unframed pieces only.
