Montblanc Meisterstuck 149 Fountain Pen & Desk Base Set

 Near Mint Authentic Montblanc Meisterstuck 149 Fountain Pen in flawless black precious resin with a Fantastic 18K F Fine Nib.  

This pen comes as a rarely seen Set with a Very Near Mint Authentic 149 Fountain Pen Desk Base Holder in flawless black precious resin and gold plated brass.  The base has never been used: just removed from its place in the case and cleaned and polished a couple of times.

This is the largest pen in the Meisterstuck collection (bigger than 144, 145, 146 and 147).  It is piston filler with a clear window indicating the ink level.  The white "snow cap" star crowned cap screws on.  It also stays securely posted when you write. 

Two tone 18K (750) Yellow Gold & Platinum (Rhodium plating) nib.  The nib is F Fine, which delivers a broader line than most other makers' Fine: this is a pretty large nib.  The clip says "Germany" and has an early serial number.

This pen is in Near MINT condition: some very very light superficial scratches, absolutely nothing major.

It could pass for a new pen.

Every part of the pen is truly beautiful aand fully functional.  The piston turns smoothly. 

Comes in Box with papers and the wonderful desk base, as pictured. 

The outer material of the case looks and feels like leather.  The material of the bottom half of the inner lining of the case is wearing a bit, some it has flaked off onto the white silk upper part of the box.  Nothing dramatic.

The desk base is in very near MINT condition: it has never been used; it has been removed from its place in the case and cleaned and polished a couple of times.  Very very light superficial scratches on the resin.  Could easily pass for a new base.

As pictured, you would screw the pen nib down into the base (with or without the cap on) when using it as a part of the set.
