Montblanc Peter I the Great Fountain Pen Lt. Ed. 1997

Description

The fine gold work of the Patron of Art Edition Peter I the Great reflects the magnificent court of the Russian tsar: surrounded by laurel wreaths, artistic yellow gold-plated ornamentation encircles the dark green barrel of Edition 4810. In Edition 888 these patterns are made of 750 white gold.
The cap top of the pen is adorned with precious emeralds, which glow in the same green as that of the barrel. The two-headed eagle, a motif from the rich iconography of the age of the tsars, is delicately engraved into the 18-karat gold nib.

Moved by the spirit of the Enlightenment, Tsar Peter the Great led the Russian Empire out of its cultural isolation into the centre of the great nations of Europe. He started the first Russian newspaper, founded the first state museum of Russia, with a public library, and the Russian Academy of Science. This was built in the city named after this great tsar – St. Petersburg.

Launch: 1997
Serial / Limitation: 4723 / 4810

    * Dark green precious resin
    * Yellow gold-plated ornamentation
    * 18-karat gold nib

Condition: Mint - has some handling marks, i.e. some very very tiny scratches/chips  on the cap and very very tiny scratches on the body. I don't think it has been inked.

Questions and answers about this item
 Q: Can you be any more specific about the scratches/chips you mention? Are they on the metal or the resin? Any close-up pictures especially re: the chips, if any? Thanks Marc mkutler@yahoo.com
A: Hi, a picture won't help that much as the marks are so tiny. It's just like it would have been brand new and you would have placed it on your table and played with it for an hour. It gets those tiny scratches just... Continue reading
