Mormon was one of the last Nephite prophets. The Book of Mormon is named after him because he compiled many centuries of the sacred records of his people, their struggles and inspired words.
When Mormon was only ten years old, he was given the plates of Nephi and told to write and steward the history of his people - a group of people led by God to the Americas around 600BC.
We can learn how to be faithful and true to Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ by following the example of the prophet Mormon just as we learn from the prophets in the Bible.
A brave leader of his people, Mormon stood for the right and felt great sorrow when his people did not obey God's commandments.
