Partridge is recorded at 105 Hanover St. in the 1860s. We believe that prior to then he was at 27 Hanover St. In the mid 19th c. There was a lingering appreciation for the French Revolution despite its excesses and highjacking by Napoleon. It was widely felt that the French Revolution was modeled on the American Revolution. There was lingering appreciation also for the French because of their decisive intervention in the American Revolution, an appreciation that seems not to have survived to present day.
