Haunted Graveyard Recording & Ghost Pictures CD

We had heard about people capturing the voices of the dead by placing tape recorders in graveyards. Having a strong interest in the afterlife, we decided we would try it.  Read our haunted story, look at the amazing pictures and listen to the recording and decide for yourself if the afterlife exists.

Our Equipment at Estelle's Grave

You are bidding on a CD containing a 30 minute recording of the sounds of a grave at midnight, on the cusp of Aquarius, in an old graveyard. The CD will also include high resolution pictures containing haunted images taken at the cemetery. None of these items has been altered in any way and would surely stand up to professional analysis.

We knew of an great old graveyard in the middle of nowhere that would be perfect for our mission. This 1-acre cemetery is more than a century old and is the long-forgotten eternal resting place for more than 60 African-American settlers. Of those, at least seven of the 66 marked graves belong to fallen black soldiers of the Civil War Colored Infantry. It is located on the outskirts of a very dark area of a small suburb. The oldest dated tombstone we can see is from 1851. Most of the tombstone epitaphs have been erased by the ravages of time.

Some tombstones are no more than rocks, while others are more standard. If you drove slowly from the street, you could be within 50 yards of it and not see it. It is located in a sparse forest, but bordered by a more dense forest, off of a dirt road. There is never any traffic, so we wouldn't be picking up traffic noise. This is truly a spooky, old cemetery, with trees encircling it on 3 sides and gravestones dating from the 1800s.

We first went there in the daytime, so we could check it out and take some pictures, and choose a grave for our mission.   The graves were in no particular order or rows, just sort of scattered between the trees and in small clearings. We did notice one grave which couldn't have been more than a few months old, leading us to believe that it is still being used for burials, just not too often.

When we got there, there was a strange feel about the place. Although it was the middle of the day, and we weren't too far from civilization, it seemed as though we were the only ones on the planet. Very quiet and bleak. The trees were all leafless and you could see quite a ways into the dense forest.

Knowing that spirits can show up in pictures, we took plenty of the graveyard and woods. It was while taking the pictures of the woods that we experienced our first feeling of dread and danger.

Notice the figure watching from the tree line

In the tree line bordering the back area of the graveyard, we found 2 mutilated animals. There was a goose, which was hanging by the neck between two trees, and a deer, who seems to have been stripped of its hind quarters. We took pictures of them, but did not want to include them in this auction, although we would be happy to supply them to the winning bidder. This sent a chill down both of our spines and we considered abandoning our mission. But after careful consideration, and our being strong brave bucks ourselves, we decided to go ahead with it.

We went on to choose the grave, that of Estelle, who was born in June and died in June, in the 1800s. Hers was the most ornate in the whole graveyard, and it was located right near the center of the front section. We took pictures of her grave and left this eerie place. That night, we got together with a 3rd person, checked our inventory and set forth on our mission.

The reason for the 3rd person was insurance. Although we are strong and brave, we are also weary of the undead. We felt that we needed someone to sit in the truck with the engine running, so as to make a quick getaway possible if needed. We didn't want any zombies stealing the keys or using their ethereal powers to disable the vehicle while we were placing the tape recorders in the graveyard. We even made sure we brought a truck that had a snow plow (or zombie-catcher, as we called it that night) attached.

We got to the graveyard at 11:20pm. It was a very dark night with lots of stars and little to no wind. The graveyard is on a one way dirt road, so we drove all the way to the back and turned the truck around so it was facing the exit, once again to provide a quick getaway, just in case.

When we got near Estelle's grave, we stopped and got out with our equipment, 2 cassette recorders, 2 brand new tapes, a candle, and a flashlight. Not wanting to be caught there by ghouls or police, we set up our recorders, took some more quick pictures of the grave, the yard and the woods, and we hurriedly left.

The tapes are 30 minutes long, so we took a drive to kill some time. When we returned to the graveyard, one tape was already finished and the other finished seconds later. We took the equipment and got the @#$% out of there. We were very happy that the hard part was over and hoped it was worth the time. We listened to the tape on the way home and were very surprised and happy to hear that there was more than silence on the tape.

We each took a tape home with us to listen to. The next day we listened to the tapes in whole, and were very happy with the outcome of one, but a little disappointed in the quality of the other. It seems to have suffered some type of electrical interference early in the recording, and persists throughout the rest of the recording. You can still hear the sounds of the graveyard, just accompanied by a white noise type sound. The other tape was fine, no interference, and that is the one we are offering for auction. You can hear us placing the equipment, lighting the candle, walking away, and driving off...then silence, the silence of the dead.

We do believe we have captured the sounds of spirits. There seems to be a series of well hidden symphonic sounds throughout the tape. Most of the sounds exist in the background noise of the tape, and can be heard when listening at a high volume with the bass turned up. We can hear melodic rumbles, chanting, creaking, howling winds, and growling. At one point, in the first 10 minutes, there is a loud click, silence, and then the noise returns, as if someone (or something) interrupted the tape. It could very well be the recorder malfunctioning, but when considering the sounds on the rest of the tape, it could be something entirely different. It would be very interesting to have an expert eliminate the white noise to bring all of the sounds out, but that is beyond our capabilities.

Later the next day, when we downloaded our pictures, from two separate cameras, we were very surprised at what they showed. We don't know a whole lot about spiritual energy and ghostly orbs, but we definitely captured some strange phenomena with our cameras. These are authentic, un-doctored pictures. Any digital image expert can verify it. We don't have any explanation for what we captured. We have included small, low definition versions of the pictures here, but the winning bidder will receive a CD containing the actual high definition pictures along with the tape.

In one of the pictures we took in the daytime, we found what appears to be a figure watching us from the tree line. This is winter and the forest is easy to see into, and there was nothing in sight of the naked eye. If we had detected this specter when we were there in the daytime, we would have never returned at night

This is a zoomed in picture of the picture above.
We don't know what this is, just seemed pretty strange for the circumstances

In this next series of pictures, taken at night, we were really surprised. The only explanation we can come up with is that the candle was moved in another plane, perhaps thrown off the grave in anger. These are very dramatic pictures, and we believe them to be strong evidence of spiritual energy. The candle is lit, and the camera was still, as can be attested to by the sharp images in the rest of the picture. One picture was taken seconds after the other by the same camera. The other camera did not pick any of this up.

There are also pictures of ghostly orbs, caught by both cameras. I should add that both lenses were clean, and there was no detectable moisture in the air. Also, we took many pictures, and the orbs only show up in about 6 pictures.

When you zoom in on these orbs, they appear to be made of some type of energy or plasma

If you look in the green circle below, you can see what seems to be a ghostly face peering at us

This is a zoomed in version of the face.

This was a great adventure for us, something we will never forget, and may very well replicate in the future. We understand how some of the sounds and pictures can be explained, but you have to admit, this is a pretty creepy collection of haunted items. It certainly has made a believer of us!

The winning bidder will receive a CD containing the haunted recording and haunted pictures in high resolution.
