This item is an orignal recording, NOT a Repro. It was purchased in the post exchange at Leighton Barracks in Wurzburg, Germany in 1957 by my wife who was stationed there at the same time Elvis was in Germany. In the runoff grooves are the numbers 45-U-156X on the Mystery Train side and 45-U-157X on the back side. Written on the front side in pencil is the following: 920041-65c (c for cents). On the back side is a self-affixed paper label with cellophane tape covering it with the last name of the original purchaser on it. There are a few scratches on the record, mainly on the back side with the song I Forgot to Remember to Forget. These do not interfere with the playing of either side of the record. The music still sounds just as it did when the record was purchased. The record jacket is not original. The original jacket was damaged beyond use in the move from Germany back to the USA. Most if not all of the scratches were incurred during this move also. I would rate this item as Good to Very Good. It has been verified as authentic by a local collector. We are offering this item for sale due to several issues. Our advanced age and the fact that none of our children are interested in this item being the main ones. We would like to see someone get it who appreciates old records to add to their collection. Thanks for looking and happy bidding! |
