This unique "Found Art" pin comes directly from the Estate of the original owner.

The theme of this piece is "Fibula" ca.1985. Here is a quote from the Smithsonian American Art Museum website where they display three of Ramona's works:

"Ramona Solberg came up with the idea for these brooches when her local bead society had a bazaar, and she chose to combine them with metal rather than string them conventionally. These pieces recall the fibulae that the ancient Celts used to fasten cloaks around their shoulders."

Ramona Solberg was born in 1921 - Watertown, SD. She passed in Seattle, WA - 2005.

There is a book published about her work, "Findings: The Work of Ramona Solberg" by Vicki Halper.

You have only to Google "Ramona Solberg" to read the inspirational volumes of information available on this historical artist.

This measures is 5-1/2" long and weighs 33.5 grams. You can read the detailed description of this piece in Ramona's own writing below.
