NAM ERA USNG-1 LEATHER FLIGHT JACKET~ VP-18 ~

A local "picker" brought in this clean Nam Era USN Leather G-1 Flight Jacket. It is as found and has never been in a collection.

Jacket is very clean/solid overall and has NO rips, tears or losses anywhere to the exterior. Cuffs and waistband are original with the usual small snags and losses. Fur style collar is excellent with NO dry rot. Zipper run is the original large tooth Conmar (see photo). All buttons are present to the collar underside and to the pocket flaps (see photos). To the front is an original Nam Era leather nametag identifying the jacket to Lt. Dean Converse (see photos). There is a Traron Five squadron patch to the upper left sleeve and a Patron 18 (Flying Phantoms) patch to the right upper chest (see photos). Both are heavy embroidery on cloth and have some age soiling (see photos). Original lining has some losses to the right armpit area but is otherwise excellent with a nomenclature label present at the collar. Maker is shown as Ralph Edwards Sportswear Co. and label indicates it's an early 7823 contract model (see photos). Size is shown as 42 but the jacket fits the mannequin as a comfortable size 38 (see photos).

Clean super durable piece that might research and would also be great for wear or display. Guaranteed an original period piece. .
