Nambe was founded in 1951 in the Santa Fe region of New Mexico. Nambe's passion for good design happend with the discovery of proprietary metal alloy which they use to make most of their products today.
As a design company, Nambe is dedicated to delivering a timeless, simple beauty. Nambe's clean, sensual pieces promise high quality, low maintenance, and affordable luxury. Continually changing concept and design, functionality, and quality, Nambe is evolutionary.
Nambe's passion for good design has become a philosophy: Every piece we handcraft must have an undeniably beautiful structural and artistic integrity, making it a remarkably high-quality, functional item that impassions the beholder. The result is award-winning designs of exceptional craftsmanship and timeless beauty.
Nambe creates its products by heating the metal to over 1300 degrees Fahrenheit and then carefully ladling it into a handmade sand mold where it is then cast as one solid piece. Once each piece is set, they are then shaped, polished, and buffed passing through the hands of fifteen craftsmen.
Nambe was first discovered by prestigious stores such as Neiman-Marcus, Saks 5th Avenue and Bloomingdales. Museums soon after added Nambe to their collections and exhibits. Nambe metal pieces are now featured in over 20 museums worldwide and have received many awards.
