Woodblock print by, Naondo Nakamura (Japanese, 1905-1981), of a reclining nude contemplating a deer skull, with her arm resting on an owl - a poignant and powerful image. Ink on thin paper. Signed in the block in a cartouche on the right, and sealed in red with the artist's seal lower-left. There is no indication of edition size, but my guess is it is very small. Not examined out of frame, but appears to be in very good condition; spot mounting to board at corners shows faint bleed-through, and there is a very minor (1cm square) stain and tiny foxing dots lower-right... not at all serious and could be concealed by matte, but mentioned in the spirit of full disclosure. The print is framed and glazed in plain black wood and plexiglas. I do not know the date of this print but would guess sometime in the 1950's-1970's. Print = 11" X 15.75" Overall w/frame = 17" X 21" Please remember when considering a purchase: ~ Domestic Priority shipping is free ~ International shipping charges are usually less than my actual cost ~ I automatically combine shipping charges for multiple purchases within a 10 day period ~ I pack securely and ship via USPS Priority Mail within 24 hours of cleared payment (except when the post office is closed) ~ Everything I sell is guaranteed to be as described or your money back ~ Check out my other items! |
