The INDIANA JONES OF EBAY does it again !!...........I have managed to  purchase  THREE militaria collections.....&  TWO Police collections.....mainly patches, badges,insignia & headgear.

One of the main collection of patches & insignia, is a real treasure trove......I showed samples from it to one dealer who wanted to buy the entire collection...but I would rather let YOU the collectors have a chance than him  obtain them solely for profit.

The origianal owner  collected  some  older RARER patches...and also   filled the gaps of 'difficult / impossible to find 'items with good reproduction patches. I am Not an expert...........so this collection of  patches will be listed as low priced NO reserve........there are genuine and some good repros...I am not sure which is which....come on bag  a bargain.............any q's please email me.

NATO Tiger Meet 2008 Feature Report

Friday 27th June

With just nine months passing since the amazing Arctic Tiger meet at MAS Ørland in Norway, it fell to 11 Flotille at Landivisiau to host the 2008 NATO meet - Ocean Tiger. Originally destined to be held at Lechfeld in Germany, the event had to be hastily re-scheduled due to operational commitments of the hosting Tornado unit. In their operational role, 11F embark on the carrier Charles de Gaulle. However, this carrier is laid up in dry dock for most of the year, presenting an ideal and rare opportunity for a Tiger Meet to be hosted at Landivisau. The Tiger Meet is held annually to promote solidarity between NATO air forces by bringing together squadrons having a tiger's head as part of its squadron crest or emblem.

 A welcome surprise was the appearance of a based Nord 262 of 28F, entering into the spirit of the occasion, decorated in the impressive scheme of black and white tiger stripes carried by the pair of 11f Super Etendards at Ørland last year.

This is a RARE patch....NATO TIGER MEET 2008 28F NATO TIGERS

The NATO Tiger Association or the Association of Tiger Squadrons was established in 1959. Promoted by French Defence minister Pierre Messmer, its role is to promote solidarity between NATO air forces. It is not, though, part of the formal NATO structure.

The USAFE (United States Air Force Europe) 79th TFS (Tactical Fighter Squadron) took the initiative and on 19 July 1961 they invited No. 74 Squadron RAF and EC 1/12 Squadron of the French Armée de l`air to Woodbridge in England. France was then a full military member of NATO.

What the participating squadrons have in common is that they have a tiger as part of its squadron crest. As well as being opportunities for NATO air forces to share ideas and experiences, the ‘Tiger Meets’ are also public relations exercises for NATO. NATO aircraft are often brightly painted with tiger stripes
