NSGD Pyong Taek was located at
Camp Humphreys, to the South of Seoul, a short distance from the town of
Pyongtaek, and adjacent to the town of Anjung-Ri. The Detachment
shared the same base compound with the Army Security Agency (ASA).
The original ships company
officially established operations at NSGD Pyong Taek on March 1, 1972 and it
functioned as a Detachment until June 13, 1980 at which time the U.S. Naval
Security Group Activity, Pyong Taek was officially established. The
Activity at Pyong Taek existed for the next thirteen years until December
11, 1993 at which time the operation was officially disestablished.
