The nursery school is the child's first community outside of the family. Our job is to guide children in learning how to be effective members of a group while maintaining their own individuality. We believe that the key to this critical life skill is language.

Columbus Park West Nursery School offers a uniquely cozy community in which young children play and grow together. Columbus Park West has been at the same Upper West Side location for more than 40 years. Originally founded as parent-cooperative playgroup, CPW quickly grew into an established nursery school and was incorporated in January 1968.
