Description:

The matched pairs consist of two microphones that are within 1 dB to each other in sensitivity and also within 1 dB to each other in the range of 300 Hz to 8,000 Hz of the individual frequency response when used in cardioid mode and are selected from a large quantity of individual microphones using the described criteria by using a proprietary computer program.

Using this matched pair for stereo recordings utilizing various techniques will provide for a good and stable balance without frequency-dependent shifting of the stereo panorama.

The kit includes all the standard accessories of the deluxe package (excluding the PF 80) along with a stereo bar and proof of performance charts in an attractive carrying case (large Soundtool case).

The C 414 B/XLS has been carefully designed to maintain the legendary sonic character of the C 414 family while integrating new features and performance enhancements made possible by new technology. The C 414B/XLS is designed to deliver accurate pickup of all acoustic instruments and voices.

The microphone’s 5 pickup patterns are easily selectable via an electronic switch with LED indication and offer the selection of omnidirectional, cardioid, wide cardioid, hypercardioid and figure-eight patterns.

The pickup pattern selector switch utilizes a dual-color LED indicator that provides visual indication of the pattern selected and also changes from green red to indicate if the microphone’s output electronics are being overloaded. The pattern selector can also be used to “lock” the microphone’s switch settings by pressing and holding it for 3 seconds.

On the rear of the microphone, an electronic switch allows the selection of -6 dB, -12 dB and -18 dB pre-attenuation levels which are accomplished by changing the polarization voltage to the capsule. The C 414 B/XLS has switchable bass cut filers of 12 dB-per-octave at 40 Hz and 80 Hz, and a 6-dB-per-octave filter at 160 Hz for control of proximity effect. On-axis sensitivity for all patterns is 23 mV/Pa and its self-noise is an extremely low 6 dB-A.

The C 414 B/XLS has a transformerless output and all-metal chassis, making it immune to electrical interference and RF from digital equipment, video monitors and wireless systems. It comes complete in an all-metal road case with the AKG H-85 shock mount, a PF80 external two-stage pop filter, a W414X external windscreen an individually-measured chart showing the response curve of the microphone. It is also available in factory-matched stereo pairs packaged with a H50 stereo bar instead of the external pop filter.

The C 414B/XLS is built in Vienna, Austria and comes with a three-year limited parts and labor warranty.

Return Authorizations
A return authorization must be obtained within 30 days of purchase to qualify, and the item must be shipped within 3 business days of the authorization. Just email us the tracking/confirmation number (returns@proaudiomart.com) along with the return authorization number to validate the return. You are responsible for the safe return of your item, so please ship the item prepaid, properly packaged, insured and with a tracking or confirmation number. COD’s shipments will be rejected. 

Return Condition
Items must be returned in “new” condition with no wear, damage or abuse and come complete with intact original packaging materials, warranty card, accessories and documentation. Merchandise returned damaged or incomplete will be subject to rejection, or an additional 15% restocking fee. Items that have been registered for warranty or with redeemed rebates are non-refundable. 

Internal Earphone Return Policy (Shure “E” series, Etymotic)
Due to the personal nature of internal earphone products, a bit of extra care is involved to make them suitable for resale, so the following exceptions apply to internal earphone returns:

$3.00 fee for sanitizing
$2.00 per pair charge for used foam inserts (cannot be sanitized, must be discarded)
$2.00 per pair charge for damaged inserts
