History:

This Alien Sport putter originally retailed for $129.99. When Alien first introduced their Ultimate Wedge way back in 1996, their name took off like fire and Pat Simmons quickly introduced other products such as the DS-9 irons, Quadmetal woods, Ultimate Driving irons, and Ultimate Titanium Driver. A few years later, their hype and sales started to die down and they found themselves having money troubles. They were bailed out by funding from Northwestern Golf company, which then took over assets/inventory and provided the putter for a much lower price.

"I was staring at the wing of my plane through the terminal window and all of a sudden it occurred to me how aerodynamics, hydrodynamics and granular dispersion all naturally related," said Simmons. "I took this concept home with me and started sketching designs for a high tech wedge. In the middle of the night I went into my lab and 18 hours later I was putting the first prototype of The Alien Ultimate Wedge through its paces on the golf course. Although I modified the club many times over in the ensuing months before achieving the results I hoped for, the overall design concept has never changed." Pat Simmons
