Advanced Features:

Stock look - Double din sized
This receiver will look completely stock.  It is a double din sized receiver which looks similar to the receivers in upgraded systems in cars such as Lexus or BMW.  This one has much better features including DVD, touch screen and more.  Read more advanced features in the next paragraphs.

7" wide screen / touch screen
This is a very easy screen to read because of the wide screen display. This has a very easy to use touch screen user interface. This unit also has display that is "7" which looks way bigger then 6" ones on the market. Most double din receivers only have a 6" or 6.5" screen.  This one is way better than those.

Highest resolution at this price point
This unit has a great resolution and extremely clear display that is unmatched by other brand names. Alpine is hands down the #1 brand name for in-dash monitors!

More then just a video receiver
This unit has a built in high powered powerful 50 x 4 mosfet amplifier which is more powerful then most receivers on the market today.  Most receivers will only have 40x4 or 45x4 watt amp.  This one will go much louder than those.  It has an easy to use eq to customize the sound of your system. it has pre set equalizer curves and the custom EQ curves.  This model has a five band equalizer.  This is way better sounding than the other models on the market that only have three band equalizers.  This unit 3 sets of pre-amp outputs including a subwoofer pre-amp output for adding additional amplifiers and subs.  This unit also has sub level controls, so you can control your sub and every other part of your sound system directly from the touch screen.  This model also adds Dolby Digital and DTS compatibility with the optional Alpine sound processor.

Plays a huge variety of CD/DVD formats
This will play all the most popular disc formats including DVD, DVD-R/RW, DVD+R/RW, DVD Audio, VCD, CD, CD-R/RW, MP3, WMA, and AAC files

Aux A/V input:
The aux input will allow you to easily connect a portable audio or video device.  It is an RCA Audio Video Input which means you will be able to transmit audio and video to the monitor through this one input.  You can connect a video game system, digital camera, camcorder, navigation, VCR, or any other device you can think of.

Dual Zone:
This is one of the only navigation receivers that is dual zone compatible.  This means you can have 1 source playing in the front, while having a second source playing in the rear.  For example you can watch a DVD in the rear while listening to the radio in the front.

Advanced MP3 Functions
A really cool feature that this receiver has is ID3 Tag display when playing back MP3 tracks.  What this does is it displays the song name, artist name, and other info on the display of the receiver.  You can also navigate the MP3 tracks by folder or song name and select which song you want to play.

3 Sets of pre-amp output:
The pre-amp outputs allow you to hook up external amps for your speakers without needing to purchase additional accessories.  Since this has 3 sets of pre-amps you can hook up a 4 channel amp and an additional amp for subwoofers.

Built in High pass Crossover filters
This feature is normally only found in the the best receivers (like this one).  The high pass filter will allow you to filter out unwanted noises from your full range speakers.  A crossover also allows your speakers to go louder without distorting them because you are filtering out the frequencies that cause the speaker to distort easily.  The crossover also will make your speakers last longer because they eliminate distortion frequencies and distortion is what causes speakers to blow.  With the crossover your speakers will last 10 times longer.

A full function remote is included!

This has a USB input that will allow you to hook up an mp3 player or any other portable audio device.

Ipod Ready
Controls and operates and charges your iPod.  The receiver will display artist and song information on the beautiful display.  This feature will work either directly through the USB input or with the optional iPod interface (KCE-422I).

Expandibility:

Bluetooth Ready (Requires kce-350bt)
When you connect the optional bluetooth interface, the receiver will display all your caller ID information and mute your music automatically, when you receive a phone call!   When you talk using  the hands free, the sound will come from your car speakers, and you can listen and talk freely! 

XM and Sirius Ready:
The receiver will display artist names, and song titles, and it will give you full XM controls directly from the receiver.  The XM Tuner and antenna is required for XM Radio.

HD Radio Ready
There are no monthly fees, but you get free radio sub-channels which you normally would not get!  The reception is also crystal clear in high definition, and best of all the receiver will display the station name, song name, and more!

Built-In Navigation Docking:
You can dock the Blackbird II or the NVE-P1 navigation into this receiver, and the actual receiver will operate and integrate the entire navigation process.
