NEW APPLE MACBOOK 13.3" WXGA GLOSSY LAPTOP LCD SCREEN

Before you start, make sure your laptop is off and is unplugged from your power supply; you should remove the battery as well. Your laptop screen is held in place by a plastic bezel. While most laptop bezels are held in place by screws, the MacBook's bezel simply snaps in and out of place.

The bezel on these laptops snaps in and out of place, so no screws or screw covers are involved. It's best to start at one corner, and work your way around, carefully pulling outward on the bezel. Don't put too much force on it, as the plastic can break. If you come to an area that won't snap free, try to work on other areas, and then come back to it from a different angle.

At the bottom of the screen is the hinge cover. Start off by unscrewing all screws holding the hinge cover in place. Then, using a small screwdriver, carefully pry either side of the hinge cover to free it. This part can be rather tricky.

Start off by carefully leaning the screen and rear bezel forward. Place a paper towel or dry washcloth on the keyboard, and then lean the screen and its frame forward to lay on the keyboard.
Then, remove the frame screws securing the screen to the metal frame. Be careful to avoid the camera cable, and any wi-fi anntena if it's there.

Carefully unplug the camera cable, using a fingernail. Simply push downward (relative to the screen) on either end of the plug, and it should slide out of its socket.

Then, carefully pull up the yellow tape holding the camera cable onto the back of the LCD screen. Be sure not to damage the camera cable while doing this.

Now, carefully unplug the video / data cable. Do this similar to how you did the camera cable above, pushing on either end of the plug to remove it from its socket, then carefully lifting up all yellow tape holding this cable onto the back of the LCD screen.

Now unplug the inverter cable. This is a pink-and-white (usually) cable, leading from a small circuitboard into the LCD screen. This cable will stay attached to the LCD - your new LCD will come with its own inverter cable, one which fits this inverter perfectly.

Your screen is now successfully removed. The label on the back of the screen will help you determine which replacement screen you will need to purchase.

To install the new screen, simply follow these instructions in reverse order.
