Black Diamond's well-balanced Cobra Adze ice axe is constructed with a molded, vibration-dampening carbon fiber shaft for lighter weight and exceptional strength. Unique curved handle design is engineered to optimize strike angle while keeping your knuckles free of protrusions. At the business end: a replaceable Laser pick with beveled top for a better stick on the first swing and reverse teeth to minimize pullout.

Swinging a COBRA is a shear delight. Nothing quite compares to the "effortless" act of sending your COBRA - into the ice. The shaft of the tool is molded (not bent) from light weight yet super strong carbon fiber which provides a unique organic looking cross section that locks onto your hand, protects your knuckles and also clears bulges and other obstacles. This lighter shaft concentrates a much greater percentage of the tool's weight at the business end. This, coupled with the inherent vibration dampening properties of carbon fiber have to be felt to be appreciated and result in less tool bounce, super sure "first sticks" and way less fatigue.
